Assess together
We sit down with you early and score your organization across six capacity domains. It's a snapshot, not a grade. It shows us where coaching will help most.
Most coaching stops at the executive. Ours starts with an honest assessment of your whole organization, then works a monthly plan until the growth shows up in your systems, your budget, and your board. It's the same method we deliver as coaches inside a county-funded nonprofit incubation program.
How it works
No vague "leadership journey." Every engagement follows the same four moves, and you know where you stand at each one.
We sit down with you early and score your organization across six capacity domains. It's a snapshot, not a grade. It shows us where coaching will help most.
From the assessment, we agree on two or three focus areas: the places where progress will actually change how your organization runs.
Regular coaching sessions, virtual or in person, tied to a monthly work plan with action items, barriers named out loud, and outcomes tracked.
In the final session we re-run the assessment and put it next to your baseline. You leave with proof of what changed, not just a feeling that it did.
What we coach on
The assessment and every work plan map to these six areas. They cover what it takes to run a nonprofit that funders trust and staff want to stay at.
The capacity of your leadership and your investment in people: recruiting and mentoring new leaders, communicating clearly, and modeling the values on the wall.
A written mission your staff and board can actually describe, real community relationships, and readiness to show up in coalitions and collaborations.
The day-to-day systems, core policies, and risk management that keep the organization safe: HR, safety, operations, and the compliance calendar nobody enjoys but everybody needs.
Designing and running effective programs: clear objectives, honest outcome tracking, and the discipline to improve what the data says isn't working.
Budget development, financial records that are stored securely and backed up, and reporting your board and funders can rely on without a scramble.
A fundraising framework, a grant deadlines calendar, and contract compliance with data systems that hold up when the funder asks for backup.
Try it yourself
Six statements, one per capacity domain. Answer honestly. This is a snapshot, not a grade, and nothing you enter leaves your browser.
For each statement, choose the answer closest to the truth today, not the one you're working toward.
Who this is for
This engagement is built for nonprofit executive directors and founders, especially at growing, community-based organizations where the leader is also the operations department. If you've outgrown winging it but aren't ready for a full-time C.O.O., coaching is the bridge.
We refined this method as executive coaches inside a county-funded nonprofit incubation program, working with grassroots organizations across Los Angeles. It works because it was built on real organizations, not workshop slides.
